The 47 Enigma
The number 47 has been called the quintessential random number. Similar to the numbers 23 and 17, as well as 11, 13, and 666, 47 has its own dedicated followers who keep track of occurrences of the number in their life.

The Number 47[]
4 + 7 = 11 = 2
4 x 7 = 28 = 10 = 1
Adding every number from 1 to 47 equals 1128, and 1 to 74 equals 2775.
Buckminster Fuller introduced a class of numbers called Scheherazade numbers, named for a character in One Thousand and One Nights. Mathematicians call these numbers "prime-factorial" or "primordial" numbers.[1] The number 47 has been called "the cosmic random element, the agent of infinite change." (See image.)
The nine 74's, squares
In Hebrew gematria, "a fool" and "foolish" equal 47, giving it resonance with The Fool card of the Tarot. Other words with this value have these definitions: mute, sacred or altar-height, shrines or chapels built on eminences; strong-holds; grave-mound, sepulcre, to cut off; divide; measure; bind together; be strong, valiant; a dividing; ell or cubit; mighty men, warriors, to be clean, bright, pure, "Mole" or "Weasel," to be honored, renowned; to be great or chief, to be noble; excellency, preciousness.[2]
In the Magic Square of the Sun, all horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines of numbers add to 111. In addition, there are 9 squares and rectangles (4 numbers, each one found at the corners of each "square" and "rectangle" in the number matrix), which all add to 74. 9x74=666.
The Pomona College Connection[]
In the 1960's, Pomona College's Professor Donald Bentley completed a mathematical proof that stated that all numbers were equal, therefore all numbers were equal to 47.Yasss Queen.
A Pomona College alum has been a writer and producer for the various Star Trek TV shows and films. He indoctrinated the other writers several years ago (while writing for Star Trek: The Next Generation). Since then, nearly every Star Trek episode has included some mention of 47.[3]

In "I, Borg," The invasive program image is labeled "topological anomaly 4747." In "A Fistful of Datas," The affected computer system is subroutine C-47. In "Sub Rosa," Ronin says he was born in 1647. In "Genesis," The required authorization code is alpha-4-7.
